SUNDAY WORSHIP TIMES:
9:00 AM
11:00 AM

Worship is one of the principal ministries at St. James Episcopal Church. It is a primary way we help one another grow so that we can bless others in this world. We offer two services for your convenience. Whether you are new to Episcopal worship or a long-time Episcopalian, we’d love you to join us for a visit!

We gather each week to acknowledge and worship the holiness of God. We gather to offer prayer and to celebrate the sacraments. Through regular worship, we become equipped to be ministers of God’s love and grace to the world.

Our service celebrates the Holy Eucharist. It usually includes congregational singing supported by an organ.

Come through the doors to the front of our building, and you’ll be greeting with a smiling face. We look forward to having you join us for worship!

What is Episcopalian?

The Episcopal Church strives to live by the teachings of Christ. He taught there were no outcasts and all are welcome! We walk the middle between Roman Catholicism and Protestant traditions. Our church is a sacramental and worship-oriented church seeking God’s calling. The Episcopal Church is a member of the Anglican Communion. This is a fellowship of over 85 million people worldwide. It makes up the third largest Christian body! There are many who share our beliefs around the world!

Meet
Father Simon

Our Rector at St. James is Father Simon Carian. He and his family are wonderful assets to our church family. He has a beautiful family that also is very involved in our congregation. They love calling Clovis home and love being part of the St. James church family.

Father Simon is our Bishop at St. James Episcopal Church.

According to the Book of Common Prayer, the ministry of a bishop is to represent Christ and his Church, particularly as apostle, chief priest and pastor of a diocese; to guard the faith, unity and discipline of the whole Church; to proclaim the Word of God; to act in Christ’s name for the reconciliation of the world and the building up of the Church; and to ordain others to continue Christ’s ministry. (From The Book of Common Prayer, 1979, pg. 855)

Our Vestry

The Vestry is the governing body of Christ Church. The chief responsibility is to be spiritual leaders of the parish. Our vestry’s job is to discern and articulate the will of God for the parish’s future direction. They support and oversee the administrative ministries of the church. Our vestry is also tasked with ensuring organization, finances and planning. The vestry members attend church at St. James are elected by the church.
